Votemo, the Tallinn-based media and event technology company, completed its second investment round today, raising €250k in funding from international and local investors.
The round was led by Akim Arhipov from VNTRS, a Nordic and Baltic based venture studio, and a newly launched cross-border angel investors community FFF. The co-lead investors were Jaak Ennuste and Sven Illing. In total 22 angel investors from Estonia, Finland, Norway and the UK joined forces with VNTRS and FFF to form this round.
“We are glad to share the news that we've closed a seed round and are gearing up for expansion. A big thank you to our lead investor Akim Arhipov (FFF, VNTRS) and co-lead investors Sven Illing and Jaak Ennuste for leading the round to success. What a great team and support,” Co-Founder and CEO Maarit Mäeveer says.
The new funding will enable Votemo to recruit a bigger sales team, fuel advanced marketing and sales activities, and expand to several European markets. At the same time, the Votemo product team will keep adding new features and enhance the user experience to provide its customers world-class audience engagement and event sponsorship solutions. The company's long-term vision is to create a pool of engagement tools that can be used across the web and in combination with different event platforms. Which can create more discussion and connection between audiences and increase sponsor visibility and brand awareness.
Maarit Mäeveer: “We also want to congratulate Akim Arhipov for the recently launched investors community Fund Fellow Founders (FFF). We are proud that Votemo is the first company they have invested in.”
Investment Enables Votemo To Develop New Engagement Tools For Major Events
Votemo is developing an event engagement platform that helps event organisers increase engagement at online, hybrid and in-person events. Since its launch, Votemo has had traction from well known international agencies such as Ascential, and worked with events and brands such as Cannes Lions, Word Cleanup Day, Marimekko, Telia, Simple Session, Visit Estonia, and X-Factor.
Today the Votemo team consists of ten people and the company is growing. Due to the rapid growth, the team is now expanding and hiring a sales manager to boost sales and to scale across Europe. If you know someone who would be perfect for this position, share this Sales Manager job post with them.
Votemo was founded in 2018 by Dagmar Mäe, Maarit Mäeveer and Tõnis Vassar to offer engagement solutions for Live TV. In 2018 Levira AS invested €150k in Votemo and in 2020 Votemo pivoted the product and has since then focused on the virtual and live event industry. The global virtual events market size is estimated to reach $505b by 2028, implying an estimated CAGR of 24% from 2021 to 2028. Today Votemo is offering unique engagement solutions to event agencies, event organisers and platforms.
